I will share pics as soon as it's all done, I'm pretty excited about it! Don't worry, I promise it won't look like a cave.

The perfect (non) black paint
I'm in the process of repainting my living room (yes, again, I know) and I've gone back to my favourite paint colour, almost black. I have this colour in several rooms of my home, and I'm madly in love with it. It's not 100% black, but it has a very subtle midnight blue tone to it. It reads black...but has a bit more depth. This is the paint colour info for anyone looking for the perfect shade of almost-black.
I will share pics as soon as it's all done, I'm pretty excited about it! Don't worry, I promise it won't look like a cave.

Colour Palettes
A while ago Pantone released their annual trend report for 2011, showing the colours of the year for fashion and home décor. They’re pretty, VERY bright…what do you think?
Via Pantone
I looked at this for a while, and then took a look at my own home colour palette.
Is it terrible that my favourite of the Pantone colours is Silver Cloud?
Does this mean I’m boring? Colour-blind? Depressed?
Or maybe…maybe next year all of the people with hyacinth coloured walls will just feel stupid.
We shall see!

The green room gets yet another makeover.
When we moved into our new house, we had one lovely guestroom, and one yucky guest room. This room was previously owned by a young, pot-smoker kid who really, really loved green paint (walls, ceiling, many splatters on the floor).
Here it was, as we were beginning to paint it for the first time:
Initially, I thought it would be easy to cover it with a nice deep blue....a colour that I've used before and loved. Here is it below (you'll note that I have once again painted, so you can only see some of the blue):
Although the blue was nice, it still felt very dark, and I just didn't like it at all. We lived with it like that for nearly a year, so it was time to try again, and finally I love it!

The perfect shade of grey
I am trying to find just the right grey for our new living room. Yes, it does sound boring, but just wait till you see what else will be going on in that room. Trust me, it's the perfect back drop.
I have a million paint chips. They all look too blue or too beige or too muddy or too crisp. I know the perfect one is out there, I just have to to FIND it.
If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!
