Ancaster Fair

We spent our Sunday out at the Ancaster Fairgrounds. This time of year is just the best, right?

All fairs are pretty much the same so I'll spare you the details but, we hit a major milestone today. Ben went on rides all by himself! He actually wanted to do it, and he was so brave! I might have cried a bit. Ya, I'm that mom.

And one with Daddy, so excited about that one!

Uncle Mike and Auntie Emma came out to meet us, the boys were pretty excited to see them!

Poor Sawyer had a few bouts of really bad teething here and there. Billy and I took turns putting him in the carrier, but he was still pretty mad about it.

Bunnies! I want one!!

As Billy put it, this next picture sums up Ben and Sawyer's relationship perfectly.

And, to end, a pretty sky. Because I have a thing for skies.

Our 6th wedding anniversary

So six years. WHATTTT? Seriously I'm going to blink my eyes and be an eighty year old woman. #great

But seriously, six years together, and what an amazing six years! Now than Ben and Sawyer are part of our little family, I feel 100% complete. Like, I'm not waiting for anything to happen, and I felt that way for a looooong time. Life is pretty awesome for us these days! And I'm about to embark on a new adventure that I'll write about another time...

Yesterday we spent the day out in Westdale, near where we were married, and it was so perfect. We had a picnic under the trees that I used to climb when I was a kid, ate ice cream, oh it was good.

Westdale is the cutest place ever. I love living so close to it. Although, I must saw, The 'Westdale Festival' that was going on was a huge let down. The 'festival' basically included some old cars parked on the side of the road and a pita pit mascot walking around. Lame.

On our journey home, Sawyer and Daddy were enjoying themselves at the bus terminal. Too cute.

So that was our anniversary this year. Happy anniversary to my sweet husband. I really, really like you. More than a friend.

Supercrawl 2014

Over the weekend we took a little stroll through Supercrawl, a really great local art/fashion event. So much fun! We have a few interesting ties to this amazing event, my Mom is an organizer of the fashion events (and a pretty cool photo exhibit) and Billy's sister Cass is one of the models (the BEST model, if you ask me). So it was definitely something we couldn't miss.

Perfect weather! Is there anyone who doesn't love September? No. No there is not.

Does anyone remember/miss the local graffiti contest that they used to have on top of Jackson Square? It was so cool.

There's no mistaking this girl for Ben's aunt. She looks more related to him than I do.

Food trucks. The true keys to my heart.

Supercrawl, see you next year!

A perfect Sunday

The other day we had a perfect day. Oh, there may have been some fussiness on behalf of a certain little man we know, but it didn't matter. Perfect weather (hats and scarves were a must, and hot drinks/cookies of course), at one of my absolute favourite places in the city, and I feel like it was just one of those days I will remember when we are old and Ben never wants to hang out with us, like ever.

And, lucky for us, the pictures seemed to turn out just as good as the day itself. I looooove these. Like, SO much.

As you can see there was a lot of Benjamin consoling going on. Poor thing was just in a mood, let me tell you. (Oh, and the sweetest lady stopped us and asked if we would like a photo of the three of us, hence that last one. I look just awful, but that never happens! So we were happy about it!)

I know, I haven' blogged in ages and now suddenly here I am again. Lately I've had mixed emotions about all kinds of things online. I mean, I've been posting pictures of Ben since the day he was born, and one day he's going to be an adult and might be pissed off by it. I don't know. I feel like Instagram made me worried about things because people come out of the woodwork on there, like soooo many people just follow you and who the hell are they?

I recently got rid of the 'ghost' followers on there and I'm still trying to whittle it down a bit, and I made my account private, so I feel a bit better. But then here's this blog, still online, and do I make it private? Password protected? Maybe. I'm still mulling it all over. I guess I'm seeing things more from a protective Mom point of view than I have before and I'm not sure how to completely convert my thinking, so one step at a time I guess.

Anyway, I started this blog years ago to be my little journal of our life, and I don't want to just bail on it. I have a soft spot for it still. So we'll just have to see where we go from here.

But, ya, I'm still going to try to write here and there. We are here, still doing our thing. Life is pretty good :)

Ben hearts fall

I took this today and it's quickly become one of my favourite pics of Ben.

benfall

He's so fascinated with the leaves falling from the huge tree in our front yard. He looks so big, right? This time last year my little peanut was so tiny. Tear. :(

Oh how I miss carrying him around like that. But now, with my sweet toddler running around, I still love this time of year so much. Ya, I love fall. I'm such a cliché.

Pumpkin Patch Day

Yesterday we did what all cheesy families do in the fall...we took Benny out to Dyment's Pumpkin Farm. That place is ADORABLE. I didn't know it existed, but I think we'll be going there every year. Not only was there a corn maze, a wagon ride, and caramel apples, but there was a sweet old Golden wandering the property who Ben fell in love with. And I'm a sucker for a good wagon ride.

And now, the obligatory photo explosion.
