Modern Cottage Love

cottage4

It's so summery these days, all I can think about is how amazing it would be to spend a weekend at the cottage. And by that, I mean our non-existent one.

The first part of my winning-the-lottery plan has always been to get a cottage. My most vivid childhood memories were at cottages on the water...one day I WILL own one myself.

Now that I've decided that I want one of these cottages, I think I need to win a couple of lotteries. Anyone have any lotto-clubs I can join in on? Looking for 20ish mill. Thanks.

These are definitely not your average where-Aunt-Helga's-couch-goes-to-die cottages. These are the cottages of dreams.

More sickeningly beautiful cottages can be seen in the House and Home Designer Cottage Gallery. Warning: these pictures will make you want to ponder a get-rich-quick scheme of sorts.

  2. Oh my goodness, yes.

Actually, I'll admit: I would even take the kind of cottage to which Aunt Helga's couch goes to die. I might like one of these BETTER, but really, I'm not picky.

  5. Hmmmm, that looks suspiciously like me and Ben in that lovely kitchen. Must be a sign. Must buy a lottery ticket.

  6. Love, love, love modern cottages. My personal idea of a Jetson's style paradise.

  7. So beautiful! I'll let you in on a little secret... my hubby and I were able to rent a similar house for a week's vacation... way cheaper than buying one! The house was beautiful, not as stylishly furnished of course, but it was still fabulous with great views on the shore of Lake Superior. So... if you ever want a taste of it, try a vacation rental!!
