Weekends are never long enough, especially when you have a to-do list the size of a phone book. But, we did the best we could!
I got to work on a wedding picture project yesterday which turned out great! I basically wanted to take our favourite wedding pictures and have them displayed somehow in the new house. I also wanted this to be ready before the big move, since the remainder of my summer is going to be spent painting, painting, and painting some more.
I started out with 4 frames that we already had, which had previously been used for a rather lame 'what-was-I-thinking' project. Trashed what was in them, and had 4 really good size frames to work with.
Sorting through the pictures was the hardest part. We took our pile of pictures and set aside the must-haves...which left us with about 100 pictures. So we further whittled until we had just enough, 32 in total.
It was a little tricky to plan a layout, because we had mostly landscape style pictures, but a few portraits that HAD to be used. And although it would have looked cool to have the pictures more randomly placed, it worked out the best having them in a particular pattern. And voila!
Once that was done it was back to packing, packing, and more packing. Sadly, the wine and liquor collection is now packing tightly in boxes, ah, the end of an era. This is what our house is looking like these days....and yes, it's my version of a nightmare. And camping.
After I packed a reasonable amount of boxes, it was time to relax and get back to my Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon. We squeezed in a good number of episodes of True Blood this weekend too, wow that show is amazing.
Lastly, our new house drive by was great. The tree out front has taken over the neighbourhood! Yes, our house is back there! I know to most people having a giant tree causes all sorts of drainage and landscaping concerns, but for me, the bigger the better. I have always been a big fan of those shady, tree-lined streets. And now we're on one!
Camping......shudder.......
